Headline news

£4.4m Government backing for next-gen aviation tech (Future Flight, Innovate UK). Funding supports UK leadership in drones and unmanned aircraft with real-world impact in agriculture and land restoration.Beyond Restoration—led by AutoSpray Systems with SEAD Artists as a delivery partner—will scale heavy-lift, long-range, BVLOS missions to move environmental materials into remote, sensitive sites at lower cost and with less ground disturbance. This helps accelerate peatland rewets, seedings, and habitat repairs—safely, repeatably, and at scale.
Shows this month
DroneX — London
Highlights: practical BVLOS pathways for nature recovery and farm operations; supply-chain building for sensors, training, and ops.
Worth reading: PwC’s new paper UK Drone Regulations and Net Risk—which includes a nod to AutoSpray Systems and restoration work we’ve been progressing with partners.
Takeaway: the conversation is moving from pilots and proofs to repeatable, insurable operations that deliver time/cost/carbon savings for estates and farms.

SADEX — Riyadh
Meetings with GACA: constructive discussions on the totality of risk for agri and restoration missions (air risk, ground risk, security overlays, data handling).
Why it matters: clearer end-to-end risk framing unlocks scalable BVLOS corridors for survey, seeding, and materials delivery—useful for both desert restoration and UK peat projects.
What we’ve been up to
Drone seeding with Typha gel
We’re amplifying a great piece of work from our friends at AutoSpray Systems with The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire & Northamptonshire and Anglia Ruskin University. The team have been drone-sowing Typha seeds suspended in a starch-based gel—helping seeds stay put even on windy days and uneven ground.
Have a look and give it a boost:👉 https://www.linkedin.com/posts/robert-pearson-08282a3a_very-windy-day-for-drone-seeding-the-activity-7368689467110367234-w8zn
Why we care: this type of precision seeding aligns with our Drone Re-peat goals—speeding up habitat restoration with less ground disturbance and better placement.
BVLOS SIG – community + capability
We’ve been contributing to ARPAS-UK’s BVLOS Special Interest Group, focusing on practical enablers for conservation and land management (safe corridors, low-cost sensing, and clearer “when/where/how” playbooks). If you want a plain-English summary for landowners or partners, reply and we’ll share a short primer.
